Software Packages Distributed by UConn Health Center IT

Software packages distributed by UConn Health Center IT are listed below. If you would like to order any of these products or if you have questions, please send an email to ITPurchasingDA@uchc.edu or call the Help Desk at 860-679-4400. You can order the Bundled Standard Desktop package (for PC or Mac) for a monthly fee of $10, which provides you with UConn Health Center IT support and software updates/upgrades. If you don’t subscribe to the Bundled Standard Desktop option, you can still obtain any of the titles listed for a monthly fee of $5/title. This monthly fee, however, does not provide UConn Health Center IT support or software updates/upgrades; to obtain IT support and software updates/upgrades, you must upgrade to the Bundled Standard Desktop plan.

Please note that titles with an asterisk* are covered under the Microsoft Campus Agreement. The UConn Health Center’s Microsoft Campus Agreement is negotiated through the North East Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP), of which the UCHC is a participating member. NERCOMP has a set of very strong license agreements that reflect the purchasing power of many of the academic institutions in the North East. Our staff can assist you with locating and ordering software products through NERCOMP or from the vendor with the best pricing.

 The most efficient way to order software at this time is as follows:

1. First check this Software Offering portal specifically designed by IT for Research (http://researchit.uchc.edu/store/index.html) to see if the item you’re looking for is already being administered and offered by Health Center IT or Storrs.

2. If the item is listed, send an email to ITPurchasingDA@uchc.edu or call the Help Desk at 860-679-4400 to initiate the order.  IT Purchasing will work with you to place your order in the FRS system and ensure that a work order is created for its installation - if needed - as soon as it is delivered. This process is very quick and orders may arrive in a couple of days.

3. If the item is not currently offered through UCHC or Storrs, IT purchasing can help you find a vendor that offers the best pricing and can also assist you with placing your order.  If you need assistance with installation of your software, IT purchasing will ensure your order is processed via FRS and a work order will be created for installation upon receipt of the product by UCHC IT.  If you prefer to install the software on your own, provide the ordering information to the person who handles purchases for your department and the product will be shipped directly to you.

4. Please be aware that use of a credit card for software purchases is not permitted by the UCHC credit card program as credit cards are issued through DAS, which prohibits this practice.  Thus reimbursement under such circumstances is questionable.

Use the link for each title to learn more about the software title and the charge. Please note that you have to work directly with the SLG to obtain the software.
